This is part two of me catching up with the Blog. The intention (do NOT laugh) is to keep up after this!
Kerian now really eats quite voraciously. He sits with us for Breakfast lunch and dinner most days.
Here he is at the Scrumpy Willow and Singing Kettle. They cut up some carrots for him to munch on while we had lunch. This is taken in mid January. That day, he also had some pear and ginger juice and a taste of bread and soup.

End of January. Kerian is 6 months and this must indeed be the magic number because there is a marked difference in how much food actually makes it from table to tummy. He had a few veg, and a really good go at an asparagus, sucking all the tasty flesh and leaving the skin. He finished with a pear, which he now eats everyday almost whole.

Next we jump to March and Kerian is now eating lots of cooked veg and still enjoying cool raw bits but not really swallowing much as it is hard flesh. He really enjoys squash and aubergines here, dark and ugly, don't scare him one bit. Courgettes were a hit as well but Kerian is no fool and although we remove all foods before salting, he's partial to nice flavours from cooking in garlic, onions and herbs.
We spent saturday at Sam and Steve's in Wellhope mid March, and Kerian just nearly swam in the trifle bowl. Sam made it with defrosted berries, Blueberry yogurt, crumbled blueberry muffins and unsweetened whipped cream. We tried to leave the muffin bits out and let Kerian dig into everything else. Let's not be mad here: this is much better eaten with the help of a spoon!A couple days ago, I made some meat balls and chips, not a meal for a baby probably but he had one chip and one meatball, which he finished and loved. There was still plenty room left for a banana!

Kerian never just opens his mouth anymore. He needs to touch, feel and smell before he gives anything a try. I had to be quick to take the photo though. He grabs new foods with quite some eagerness!
I believe Kerian did prefer the meatball to the potatoe. He has had a few cuts of meat and he's no vegetarian by taste for sure. I guess that's human nature and he will learn in time that meat is OK to eat if the animals have been treated well and in small quantities.

Babanas are eaten whole or almost now. Kerian will eat banana on his own but there is a lot of loss throught smearing and bits falling on the floor. Bananas are slippery animals! I thus sometime just peel the banana in front of him and let him bite what he wants.
